Varnishing & Wood Sealing for Monte Vista homes & businesses
Pergolas, decks, doors and window frames in Monte Vista take a beating from sun and rain. Regular sealing keeps timber from greying, cracking and rotting.
Monte Vista's established homes and flat-roof extensions are common waterproofing jobs for us. Hot, dry summers and a proper Cape winter mean roofs here take a beating from UV in January and standing water in July.
Our varnishing & wood sealing service
Cape sun and winter rain are brutal on exposed timber. Without protection, pergolas grey, decks split and front doors peel within a couple of seasons. We sand back to clean timber, treat any rot or borer damage, and apply penetrating sealers or varnishes that suit the wood and how exposed it is. We also paint pergolas, fascias and timber cladding when a solid colour works better. From garage doors to staircase slats, we'll recommend the right finish and give you a realistic maintenance schedule.

Varnishing FAQs
How often should exterior wood be re-sealed?
Exposed timber in the Western Cape usually needs a maintenance coat every 12 to 24 months, depending on sun and sea exposure.
Varnish or sealer: which is better?
Penetrating sealers are easier to maintain outdoors; varnish gives a harder, glossier finish better suited to doors and indoor timber.
Can you restore grey, weathered wood?
In most cases, yes. We sand back to fresh timber and re-seal, which brings back the natural colour.
